Giant Jalur Gemilang, CGC’s Tribute to the Nation

KELANA JAYA, 23 August – Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) proudly displays the giant Jalur Gemilang for the fourth (4) consecutive year as a sign of patriotism, love and respect for our beloved Malaysia.

The 91ft by 36ft symbol of Malaysian sovereignty can be seen by motorists approaching CGC’s 16-storey building at the Kelana Business Centre. It is also visible to those riding the LRT from Subang Jaya to Kuala Lumpur. Unfurled on 4 August, the flag will fly until the end of September.

Additionally, CGC hoisted flags of 14 states in Malaysia, reflecting our unity as a nation.

“Every 31 August, Malaysians come together to celebrate our progress as a nation and to renew our pledge to be united. While the route to Merdeka was not easy, we as a nation have progressed well since 1957. Hence, it is important that we continue educating our younger generation to appreciate the freedom that we enjoy today. As a multiracial society, the diversity we have is our strength. Respect one another, build closer ties and promote unity among Malaysians,” said President/CEO, Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak.

CGC takes pride in displaying the Jalur Gemilang. Staff from various departments collaborated to get the Jalur Gemilang hoisted majestically at the headquarter. They also produced an in-house video on Jalur Gemilang which is available on CGC’s social media and You Tube [https://youtu.be/rZb3rLpQ760].

“Echoing this year’s theme – Sayangi Malaysiaku, flying the Jalur Gemilang is one way CGC shows its gratitude to a nation that has blessed us in many ways. CGC is home to over 500 employees from different background, race, religion and culture. We stand united as Malaysians and are proud of our nation’s achievements,” said Zamree.

This year the Merdeka celebration will be extra special and meaningful for CGC. For the first time in 46 years, CGC will be organising a CGC Merdeka Midnight Rugby Meet on the eve of the celebration. This is a collaboration between CGC, the Ministry of Communications & Multimedia, and the Home of Warriors Rugby Club (HOW). This rugby tournament is for veteran rugby players representing 12 alumni. The event will be held at Padang Bola Sepak D, Kolej 14, University Putra Malaysia in Serdang. The event will end with a firework display at the stroke of midnight.
