Customised Cross-border Business Matching for three (3) Malaysian SMEs

KELANA JAYA, 25 July – Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) organised its first international business matching programme in Jakarta between Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) from Malaysia and buyers from Indonesia.

BizMatch is a platform placed under the CGC Developmental Programme, to enable Malaysian SMEs to venture into cross-border markets. Indonesia is the largest market by consumer spending in ASEAN with a population of over 266 million.

Three Malaysian SMEs – Hoong Qian Trading Sdn Bhd, Mutiara Jingga Marketing and Wish Dairies (M) Sdn Bhd scaled up their businesses with 15 Indonesian buyers through CGC’s BizMatch session on Tuesday (24 July).

Highlights of the programme included the SMEs showcasing their products and pocket talks by Dekopin, Jamkrindo and SuperAnt.

“CGC customises business matching for Malaysian SMEs that are ready to establish and grow beyond Malaysia. We guide these SMEs to address regulatory and financing requirements in expanding their businesses to Indonesia,” said CGC Chief Business Officer, Leong Weng Choong.

He further mentioned that CGC aims to assist more Malaysian SMEs in venturing into markets in the region and globally, in support of the nation’s SME Development agenda.

“This is our inaugural cross border initiative and CGC will be hosting similar programmes to drive SMEs’ market accessibility abroad. We believe that this will provide visibility to our SMEs in terms of their products and services. CGC expects the programme to benefit over 5,000 SMEs by 2020,” added Leong.

Meanwhile, the SMEs expressed their gratitude for the networking opportunity and are optimistic to establish strong foothold in the Indonesian market.

“This is our first international foray. CGC International BizMatch made the access to Indonesia market possible,” said Muhammad Faiz Shahibul Firhad from Mutiara Jingga Marketing, a manufacturer of food and cosmetic products.

Ladies footwear manufacturer Hoong Qian Trading’s Director Chen Sow Wan said ” It was a good experience to meet business partners in Indonesia. CGC International BizMatch is a fantastic platform for business expansion.”

“Thank you CGC for the opportunity to expand our business to Indonesia. We wish to bring our business ties with Indonesian buyers to the next level,” said Sarawak based ice-cream manufacturer Wish Dairies (M) Sdn Bhd Director, Raymond Liew.

CGC’s official digital partner for this programme is Indonesia’s SuperAnt (Super Advanced Network Technologies).
