Happy New Year and warmest greetings from all of us at CGC.
Thank you for visiting our website. It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.
Allow me to share with you CGC’s journey throughout 2016 which was a significant year as we began our transformation journey into an organisation that is forward-looking, efficient and effective in driving SME growth further. Several of the major initiatives under our 5-Year Strategic Plan (5SP), Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and IT Blueprint have been successfully implemented in line with our aspiration to be the Household Name for SMEs by the year 2020.
In creating greater access to financing for the SMEs, we forged strategic alliances with several financial institutions (FIs). We have also remained focus in financing the underserved segments such as start-ups and women entrepreneurs as well as the Bumiputera SMEs through our direct financing facilities.
Besides financing, we also provided advisory services and guidance to our clients through our Developmental Programme which is aimed at assisting SMEs to gain access to both local and international markets. To demonstrate our commitment, we facilitated and sponsored three (3) of our successful clients to participate in the 13th China-ASEAN Expo which was held in Nanning, China in September 2016. The exhibition served as an important learning experience and platform for them to gain international exposure in showcasing and marketing their products.
In line with our commitment to nurture and encourage SMEs to flourish, we partnered with leading media organisations to recognise and demonstrate our support to the successful entrepreneurs with business excellence awards. We also continued to extend our appreciation to our strategic partners in the finance industry by awarding CGC’s Top FI Partner Awards in recognition of their valued contribution towards SME outreach.
These efforts were augmented by our active participation in exhibitions, roadshows, seminars and conferences organised by Bank Negara Malaysia, SME Corp, government-linked companies, trade associations and business chambers and also through our own entrepreneur forums to create increased awareness of our role and services amongst the SMEs.
It was a remarkable year too for CGC in terms of achieving both local and international recognitions and accolades. CGC was awarded the Certificate of Merit under the Best Innovation in Sustainable Financial Products and Services category for BizWanita-i at the Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Awards 2016, Best Website under Special Awards category as well as the Merit Award under the SME Development Category for BizWanita-i by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), The BrandLaureate Transformational Organisation Brand Award 2016, Top SME Supporter Award by the SME Association of Malaysia, Best Companies To Work For In Asia 2016 award by HR Asia and the Best Annual Report of Non-Listed Organisations Award at the National Annual Corporate Report Awards (NACRA) Ceremony 2016. CGC’s knowledge and expertise in developing SMEs are also acknowledged and recognised internationally. We have hosted nine (9) study visits and familiarization programmes in 2016 for officers of development finance institutions from Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia.
As part of CGC’s way of giving back to our society and reaching out to the underprivileged, a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programmes were organised in conjunction with major festivals and celebrations and also in support of other causes through cash and in kind contributions. This is a continuous effort to reach out to a wider cross-section of our society who are in need of moral and financial support.
No company today can rest on its laurels as there are continuous challenges brought about by market disruptions as a result of technological advancements and innovations. In view of these, we created an environment where our employees can thrive on passion and purpose through our various employee engagement activities, continuous training and talent management. We realize that we need to go beyond what’s expected and become game-changers to take CGC to the next level.
Last but not least, on behalf of my colleagues, I would like to thank our clients and stakeholders for their continued trust and support towards CGC. I strongly believe that with continued dedication, commitment and passion, we can achieve greater success in 2017.
With that, I wish you a great 2017 and once again, thank you for visiting our website.
Wasalam / Salam Hormat,
Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak
