Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak

President & Chief Executive Officer

Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak was appointed as CGC’s President and Chief Executive Officer on 1st January, 2015.

Zamree brings with him vast experience in the areas of banking operations, corporate and consumer banking as well as Islamic finance education. He began his career as a Graduate Trainee Officer with Malaysia’s largest banking group Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) in 1989. He held several key positions in Maybank which include Executive  Assistant to the President and Chief Executive Officer (April 2001 – Dec 2004), Vice President, Consumer Banking (Jan 2005 – Jan 2008) and Executive Vice President, Corporate Banking (Jan 2008 – July 2009). Zamree also served as the Chief Operations Officer of INCEIF – The Global University of Islamic Finance in July 2009 up to his latest appointment in CGC. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance (CIIF).

On 12 July 2018, Zamree received the Sustainability Leader of the Year Award at the Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Awards in Karlsruhe, Germany. The award honoured financial institutions, related organisations, presidents and CEOs with significant contributions to the field of sustainable financing. The recognition is organised by the European Organisation for Sustainable Development, the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia- Pacific and the Association of African Development Finance Institutions in cooperation with the City of Karlsruhe, Germany.  Earlier on 20th February 2018, Zamree was recognised as the 2018 Outstanding CEO by the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP). This is the largest and most prestigious aggrupation of 131 development banks and other financial institutions located in 45 countries within the Asia-Pacific region.

Zamree holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Saint Louis University, United States of America (1988) and a Master in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Hull, United Kingdom (1992). He attended the Asian International Executive Programme (AIEP) at INSEAD and the Global Leadership Development Programme (GLDP) at ICLIF in 2006 and 2010 respectively. In Autumn 2016, Zamree attended the Advanced Management Programme (AMP 191) at Harvard Business School, United States of America.

Yushida Husin

Chief Executive Officer, CGC Digital Sdn Bhd

Yushida Husin was appointed Chief Executive Officer of CGC Digital Sdn Bhd on 1 August 2022. CGC Digital is a wholly owned subsidiary of CGC and was incorporated on 5 July 2022 in conjunction with CGC’s 50th Anniversary.

Yushida is leading this digital start-up to further help MSMEs access financing and scale up their businesses using data and technology-driven innovation.

She joined CGC as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Programme Management Office in 2016, with her last position as the Chief Technology and Operations Officer. Prior to being with CGC, Yushida served as the Chief Corporate Services Officer at Takaful Ikhlas Berhad. She was also with Accenture, overseeing system project implementation in Malaysia and the ASEAN region.

Yushida has more than 25 years of experience involving transformation, strategy, technology-led innovation, corporate support functions, operations and management consulting within the financial services industry.

Yushida holds a Bachelor of Science (Statistics) from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, United States of America.

K. Perbagaran

Chief Internal Auditor

Perbagaran is the Chief Internal Auditor at Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC). His journey with CGC started in August 2005, and over the years, he rose steadily through the ranks, mainly due to his expertise and dedication to the organisation.

In his current capacity, Perbagaran oversees the critical functions within CGC, leading Credit & Operations Audit and IT & Data Analytics Audit.

Perbagaran achieved a milestone in March 2008 when he was promoted to Senior Manager of Asset Management. In this role, he supervised Loan Monitoring and Rehabilitation, Claims and Subrogation, and Recovery. His ability in managing CGC’s assets and mitigating risks is commendable.

In January 2012, Perbagaran was appointed as the Head, Risk Management Division and a year later he was promoted as the Assistant General Manager. Fast forward, in January 2015, he was made the Chief Risk Officer, responsible for comprehensive risk management, including credit, market, operational, and asset liability risks. He played a vital role in identifying CGC’s liquidity and ensured that these risks were meticulously assessed, monitored, and reported to senior management and the Board.

Perbagaran holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from University Utara Malaysia and a Master of Business Administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University. He is a Chartered Accountant (Malaysia), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and an associate member of both the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. His repertoire also includes the Advanced Credit Enhancer (ACE) qualification.

Daeng Hafez Arafat Bin Zuhud

General Counsel & Company Secretary

Daeng Hafez Arafat Zuhud joined CGC as the General Counsel & Company Secretary in May 2015. He oversees legal, company secretarial and corporate governance functions.

Previously, he was the legal officer, executive and manager, working in the field of corporate legal, secretarial and human resources department for a few private and public listed companies in Malaysia. His last position prior to joining CGC was as Assistant Vice President, Group Corporate Secretarial at Malayan Banking Berhad. He was also the past Company Secretary of Maybank Asset Management Group of Companies and Maybank (Cambodia) Plc. He has experience in legal practice, company secretarial and human resources.

He holds an LL.B (Honours) Degree from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of High Court of Malaya on 18 March 1995. He is licensed as Company Secretary by the Companies Commission of Malaysia since 1998.

Zarina Osman

Chief Risk Officer

Zarina is the Chief Risk Officer of Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC). Prior to her current role, she joined CGC on 3 April 2017 as the Chief Credit Officer and subsequently as Chief Credit and Operations Officer in February 2023.

She is responsible for overseeing key functions namely Credit & Market Risk, Investment Middle-office, and Enterprise & Operational Risk.

Prior to joining CGC, she served as the Head, Credit Management at Kuwait Finance House Malaysia. She has also held several senior positions at Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, RHB Islamic Bank Berhad and Alliance Merchant Bank Berhad.

Zarina brings with her 28 years of experience in credit management covering full spectrum of Business Banking from Investment, Treasury and Capital Markets, Corporate, and Commercial as well as Retail business.

Zarina holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) from Universiti Malaya and is also a Certified Credit Professional and Banking Credit Specialist.

Rahim Raduan

Chief Operations Officer

Rahim is the Chief Operations Officer of Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC). He joined CGC on 2 May 2018 as the Chief Corporate Officer.

Currently, Rahim oversees the key functions in the Operations and Credit divisions.

Rahim has over 20 years of investment and consumer banking, wealth management, fund management, automotive, infrastructure, and property development. Prior to joining CGC, he was the Director in the Group MD/CEO’s Office of UEM Group Berhad, where he was responsible to assist the Group MD/CEO on the execution of several strategic initiatives across UEM Group. Before UEM Group, Rahim spent over seven (7) years with CIMB Group where he helmed several senior leadership positions which include Head of Consumer Banking’s Channel Operations and Service Support at CIMB Bank Berhad, Chief Operating Officer of CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad and Chief Operating Officer of CIMB Wealth Advisors Berhad.

A well-rounded professional with extensive experience in corporate strategy, business transformation and financial management, Rahim is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM), the Malaysia Financial Planning Council (MFPC), the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia (ICDM).

In 2015, Rahim completed the CIMB-INSEAD Leadership Programme at INSEAD, France.

Fakrul Azmi Mohamad

Fakrul Azmi Mohamad joined CGC as the Chief Internal Auditor on 1 October 2018. His primary role is to assist Board of Directors and the Management to effectively discharge their responsibilities in establishing cost effective controls, risks assessment and mitigation, and to ensure stronger governance process.

Fakrul has over 20 years of experience in financial services sector, where he has successfully implemented best audit practices as well as improving the audit activity coverage.

Prior to this appointment, Fakrul was the Chief Internal Auditor at Asian Finance Bank. His past experience includes leadership positions at Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad, Malaysia Development Bank Berhad, Malaysia Debt Ventures Berhad, Kuwait Finance House and CIMB Bank Berhad.

He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Credit Professional (CCP), an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). Fakrul is also a Member of the Certified Bank Auditor (CBA) Examination Committee.

Sean Tan

Chief Business Officer

Sean Tan joined CGC on 5 April 2023 as Chief Business Officer, heading the Business Division. With over 20 years of banking experience, he brings expertise in Product Development, Business Strategy, Credit Collection and Recovery, Portfolio Management, Marketing, and Distribution Channels to Sales within Consumer, Business, and Commercial Banking.

Prior to joining CGC, Sean Tan was the Head of Business Development at PropertyGuru Group, driving software solutions and data business for B2B in five countries. Before that, he was the Head of Sales and Partnership under Business Banking with UOB Bank Malaysia, where he successfully growing the Business Customer segment with strategy, product program, process enhancement, sales management, strategic alliances, digital initiatives, talent development and improving overall customer experience.

Earlier in his career, Sean Tan was with Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia’s Retail SME segment and while he was attached with Hong Leong Bank, Sean grew the Personal Loans portfolio by simplifying the processes, developing new credit programmes, enhancing systems, and launching marketing campaigns.

As Chief Business Officer at CGC, Sean Tan is responsible for overseeing the Corporation’s Business Division, which includes developing and promoting new products, partnering with our FI/DFI/Islamic FI/GLCs/Government Agencies, creating business alliances, and identifying prospects to meet the Corporation’s business targets and
visions.

Sean Tan holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Major in Finance and Marketing from Curtin University of Technology Perth, Australia.

Nazral Safril Mohammad Sapari

Chief Human Resources Officer

Nazral Safril Mohammad Sapari joined CGC on 8 May 2023 as Chief Human Resources Officer heading the Human Resources Management & Administration Division.

He is responsible for overseeing the development of functional strategies and efficient operations of Human Resources Management and Facilities & Administration Services, towards achieving the Corporation’s overall objectives.

Nazral comes with over 30 years of experience in human resource strategies, management, administration and operations in banking as well as in various corporate environments. He has a proven track record of developing high-quality HR plans and strategies.

Prior to joining CGC, Nazral was the Director of Human Resources & Administration at Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction. Before that, he was the Head/General Manager, Human Resources & Administration at Touch ‘N Go Sdn Bhd, heading the HR division’s core functions. He also served CIMB Investment Bank Berhad as Regional Head, HR Business Partner for Group Asset Management & Investments/Director, Group Human Resources where he led the Property and Facilities Management divisions at CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad (Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore & Thailand) (CPAM) and CIMB-Principal Islamic Asset Management Sendirian Berhad (CPIAM).

Earlier in his career, Nazral was with AmBank (M) Berhad where he spearheaded the HR Group Shared Services. Nazral was also a founding team member of Alinma Bank, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Nazral holds a BBA (Hons) in Human Resource Management (2006) from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam, Malaysia and an Advanced Diploma in Business Management (1992) from Swansea Institute of Higher Education, Wales, UK.

Nurul Amni Mohd Amin

Nurul Amni Mohd Amin joined CGC on 6 June 2023 as Chief Financial Officer, heading the Finance Division.

She is responsible for overseeing the overall finance strategies, including ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of both finance and procurement functions, towards realising the Corporation’s overall objectives.

Nurul Amni has over 19 years of working experience in accounting firms and others in the commercial sector within the government agency, financial institution, and sovereign wealth fund industry.

Prior to joining CGC, Nurul Amni was the Vice President of Project Management Unit in the Public Market Division of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB). She was responsible for driving the transformation initiatives of PNB, including the implementation of core investment system, investment data warehouse and building a spoke data team. Prior of PNB, she served as the Associate Director, Head of Finance and Capital Management at Danajamin Nasional Berhad, managing the Finance operation and capital management function.

She also served at Khazanah Nasional Berhad as the Vice President of Strategic Management Unit in the Managing Director’s Office. She was instrumental in developing strategic planning, performance reporting, and portfolio management for Khazanah’s investment portfolio.

Earlier in her career, Nurul Amni worked at Ernst & Young, where she led various audit engagements in asset and fund management, investment holding, services and trading, property development and the manufacturing industry.

Nurul Amni holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (2004) from University of Southampton, United Kingdom. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Wai Ko-chi joined CGC as Head of Enterprise Architecture & IT Strategy on 5 June 2017 and was promoted to Senior Vice President of Information Technology on 1 January 2019.  Ko-chi oversees Information Technology, namely Enterprise Architecture & IT Strategy, IT Infrastructure, IT Governance, and IT Applications.

Prior to joining CGC, he was an Account Technology Consulting Lead and Chief Engineer with DXC Technology/Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He has over 20 years of experience with various international and local organisations covering global and regional projects, including Shell IT International and Accenture.

Ko-chi holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons, Mechanical) degree from the University of Malaya.

Sum Leng Kuang joined CGC as the Head of Investment in September 2015 and oversees the Investment Department.

She brings extensive management experience to the table, particularly in the areas of managing fixed income investment portfolios, credit evaluation and credit risk management. She has also consistently delivered a commendable performance and good returns, as well as achieving zero default rate track record over the last 30 years of her career.

Sum attained her Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

Head, Corporate Communications & Stakeholder Relations

Mohana joined CGC as Head of Corporate Communications on 5 July 2018. She oversees Brand Management, Public Relations and Media, Events, Social and Digital Media, and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Prior to joining CGC, Mohana was the Director of Private Retirement Services and Assistant Director, Retail Funds Marketing, CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad (now known as Principal Asset Management), and Manager, Knowledge Management, CIMB Investment Bank Berhad. She has over 23 years of experience in the financial industry, including corporate communications, sales and distribution, wealth management and retirement services.

Mohana holds a Bachelor of Communication with Honours from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Head, Operations

Mohd Sukeri Ismail is the Senior Vice President, Operations overseeing the Subrogation and Recovery, Billing Management, Loan Monitoring and Rehabilitation, Collection Centre, and Claims Departments.

He has been with CGC for the last 22 years. Prior to joining CGC, he worked for a financial institution for six years.

Sukeri holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Finance from Creighton University, United States and a qualification on Associate of General Studies from Indiana University.

Mohamed Azman Bin Mohamed Taufik

Head, Business Development & Products

Mohamed Azman Mohamad Taufik joined CGC as a Senior Vice President, Bumiputera Development & Product in February 2015. He oversees Bumiputera Development, Product Development & Support and Client Service Centre.

He has over 28 years of experience working in the banking and financial sectors both in Malaysia and Indonesia. Prior to joining CGC, he held the post of Associate Director and Branch Manager at The Bank of Nova Scotia Berhad.

Mohamed Azman attained his Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Waikato, New Zealand in 1990, and he is a Certified Credit Practitioner since 2002.

Head, Strategic Management

Azman Idrus joined CGC on 12 September 2022 as the Head of Strategic Management, Corporate Division.

Azman is responsible for strategising, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and directing corporate initiatives and activities related to the implementation of the business/strategic plan to enhance the Corporation’s role in the development of the MSME sector.

A seasoned financial services professional, Azman has over 20 years of experience in consumer banking strategy development, operations, channels and change management leadership within financial institutions, including those with a regional presence. Prior to joining CGC, he was with Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia, leading the bank’s channels and operations division, overseeing the operations, improving the bank’s channels and managing the adoption and usage of its alternate channels. Azman also managed other various retail banking business portfolios and projects during his tenures with Citibank Berhad, AmBank (M) Berhad and CIMB Bank Berhad. These included sales management, branch operations, corporate planning and strategy, product development, segmentation, project management office and Islamic Bank. He was responsible for notable projects including bank merger integration and rationalisation exercise, Islamic banking subsidiary/SME division set-up and branch transformation. Prior to that, he was a Consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Malaysia and Asia Pacific.

Azman holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Hull, United Kingdom in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree from MARA University of Technology (UiTM) in Information Science.
