JOHOR BAHRU, March 21 – Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad’s (CGC) ‘Go Digital Talk’ has made its maiden entree to the Southern region today, to empower more than 180 small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to optimise their business potential with increasing opportunities in digital marketing.

This is one of CGC’s signature workshops under its mentoring programme series, that guide the SMEs to learn new knowledge and skills to effectively use Digital Marketing Solutions to bring their business to the next level.

“SMEs are now realised that they have to be on digital, they need to be on Facebook, YouTube and have a website to market their products and services. Thereby, our ‘Go Digital Talk’ series will be an impactful and cost-effective platform for the SMEs to attract new customers and grow their business,” said CGC’s Senior Vice President for Marketing and Sales Wong Keet Loong in his welcoming remarks during the half-day talk held at the Grand Paragon Hotel in Johor Bahru, Johor, Wednesday.

The talk features key industry speakers: Lee Zhern Yuen, iFleet Manager of Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, and Nadhir Ashafiq, the Co-Founder and Executive Director of TheLorry.com, an online logistics platform.

Both the speakers share their knowledge and expertise on how digital marketing can open up new business growth channels for the SMEs, as well as tips and strategies for effective digital marketing.

“It is easy to say that everyone is technology savvy; however, the challenge faced by the SMEs in embracing digital space is that they do not have sufficient guidance in finding the right platform in managing their social and digital presence to market their business. This workshop will address these concerns by exposing the SMEs to be more structured and take an inclusive approach in the adoption of digital marketing,” added Wong.

Introduced in May 2016, the mentoring programme is an initiative under CGC Developmental Programme, aimed at facilitating SMEs to succeed in their businesses through a series of workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions.

This year, CGC plans to reach out to about 1,200 SMEs nationwide via 12 mentoring programs and workshops whereby six will be on digital marketing and another six on gaining market access.

To-date, CGC has organized a total of fourteen (14) mentoring programmes, which have benefited approximately 1,336 SMEs.
