SABAK BERNAM, 18 December – Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad (CGC) brought cheers to 108 underprivileged students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Parit 4, Sungai Besar, Selangor by contributing school essentials during its 2018 ‘Jom Kembali ke Sekolah’ Programme on Monday 17 December 2018.

In the running for the fifth year, the CGC ‘Jom Kembali ke Sekolah’ Corporate Responsibility (CR) programme is aimed to ease financial constraints faced by parents with income lesser than RM6,000 per month in preparing school supplies for the 2019 school session.

The event was hosted by Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Parit 4 together with the Parents and Teachers Association of the school. CGC Chief Internal Auditor Fakrul Azmi Mohamad represented President/CEO Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak. Also present at the event was Pn. Fariha Hj Yaacob, Senior Supervisor for Student Affair from Sabak Bernam District Education Office.

Fakrul Azmi handed over a set of school uniform, bag, a pair of shoes and socks to 108 deserving school children of SK Parit 4.

The Programme reaffirms CGC’s stand in education being the catalyst of change. Young minds are the hope of the nation and they should be encouraged. Having the essentials for school is key to ensure that these students are ready for the new session. CGC is delighted to be able to play a role in assisting the students and their parents. The CGC “Jom Kembali ke Sekolah” hopes boost the spirits of students and encourage them to strive for a better future.

Caring for the underprivileged is another way CGC gives back to the community for the betterment of the nation.

The programme was also enriched with many fun-filled activities, followed by lunch for the students and their families.

CGC Jom Kembali ke Sekolah’ started as a CR programme to assist school-going children from the Orang Asli community. This annual CR programme has reached many deserving students, with CGC providing financial assistance to the less fortunate members of the society, especially during the new school session for the year.

CR initiatives are an integral part of the community outreach programme at CGC and is aimed to assist social-economic development of the community.
